Meet The Teacher
Before I found my true calling as a yoga teacher, I worked in the fast-paced world of fashion. At the time, I believed it was my destiny. However, life had other plans for me, and I soon discovered my Dharma – to teach yoga and share its transformative power with others.
As a dedicated yoga teacher, I see my role as one of service, offering the ancient wisdom of yoga to those seeking physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Yoga has the potential to heal on a holistic level, and I approach every class with the belief that we can change lives for the better, one practice at a time. Whether teaching groups or individuals, this intention is at the heart of my work.
I also consider myself a lifelong yoga student, continuously learning from both past and present teachers. This ongoing journey fuels my passion, which I aim to pass on to my students through intuitive, inspirational, and accessible teaching. My style is often described as clear and precise, balancing the scientific and spiritual aspects of yoga, so students experience both physical alignment and inner growth.
One of the things I love most about yoga is that it is called a “practice.” There’s no need for perfection, and no final destination. The potential for growth and awakening is limitless.
My personal yoga journey began later in life, after having my two daughters. Yoga became a cornerstone for my well-being, and my early training with Sivananda teachers in London inspired me to deepen my practice. I eventually traveled to India to study at the Sivananda School, where I earned my certification as a yoga instructor. Since then, my path has expanded in ways I never imagined.
In 2011, I completed my training as a Yoga Therapist at Teach Yoga in London under Elena Voyce, driven by a desire to heal my own body. I was diagnosed with scoliosis, kyphosis, and lordosis – all conditions affecting my spine – and yoga has been my constant companion in this long, winding healing journey.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of training with renowned teachers like Claire Missingham, an expert in Vinyasa Flow, and Swami Saradananda, from whom I gained certification in meditation instruction. I am also passionate about Yin Yoga, having studied the Paul Grilley method, and I embrace the depth of all authentic yoga styles – even the occasional Ashtanga class! During the lockdown, I further enriched my practice by completing a fascinating course on Yoga and the Gut with Elena Voyce.
In 2007, I made the move from London to Hastings, East Sussex, where I set up my home studio and began offering community-based classes. Partnering with the local council on a government initiative to promote physical activity, I launched popular classes such as Yoga for Over 50s and Yoga for All. These classes flourished, and I became a well-established member of the Hastings yoga community.
Now living in Burwash, I remain deeply connected to my Hastings yoga family and am excited to expand my classes into nearby areas such as Wadhurst and Etchingham. I offer both community classes and private sessions, and since 2017, I’ve had the honour of leading yoga retreats abroad, helping students deepen their practice in beautiful, serene settings.
Whether you are just beginning your yoga journey or seeking to refine your practice, I invite you to join me for an experience of growth, healing, and self-discovery.
